What it is
Miokuru is a 20-seat handroll counter on Warwick Street in Soho, founded by Eliott Grabli. Guests sit at the counter and each roll is handed straight over it. The menu names British suppliers such as Flying Fish Seafoods and Swaledale Butchers, and runs from hand-dived scallop with samphire (£11), white crab with tarragon (£12), crispy salmon (£9) and seared beef with bone marrow (£9) to hamachi aburi (£15), tuna akami (£16) and otoro tuna tartare (£16), with matcha mousse or seasonal sorbet and meringue (£7) to finish. The bar seating converts into a private dining space for up to ten. Jay Rayner reviewed it warmly in the FT in October.
