What it is

Da Pino is Giuseppe 'Pino' Pepe's own restaurant, run with Federico Giannuzzi; Pepe was previously head chef at Casa Fofo in Clapton, and the pair have taken over the former Bianca's site on Stoke Newington Road. The room keeps much of Bianca's interior, with a new red wall and a Botticelli-inspired mural by Simon Abbott on the front of the bar counter, and counter seats are held back for walk-ins. The short menu changes with the seasons and draws on Pepe's Puglian roots: tomato ravioli with Spenwood cheese and basil, riso, patate e cozze (grilled rice with mussels and potatoes), raw scallops with peanut milk and green tomatoes, beef tartare with Stilton, and a sourdough-bread miso ice cream with apple and pumpkin seeds. It is open Wednesday to Sunday, with bookings on OpenTable.
