What it is

Kinz is a Lebanese restaurant from Rasha Khouri Bruzzo and brothers Jad and Karim Lahoud, opened in June in a former Lloyds Bank on Notting Hill Gate, designed in the 1930s by Sir Edward Maufe. The triple-height dining room has an arched mezzanine, a canopied cocktail bar, a wine room in the old bank vault and a deli selling spice mixes and pastries. The menu is home-style Lebanese: hummus with lamb and pine nuts (£15), pumpkin kibbeh stuffed with spinach and walnuts (£9), samke harra cod with walnut and tahini (£12.50), meat kibbeh, warak enab, arayes, mixed skewers of chicken taouk and halloumi (£23) and slow-cooked spiced chicken on rice with minced lamb and nuts (£27), with osmalieh and Elene's chocolate cake for dessert. Tanya Gold reviewed it warmly in The Observer in October.
